How to Chop an Onion

You thought you knew, and you were right, but this is still pretty hypnotic. (And if you’re in the mood for more small videos about food, here’s one for Dill Deviled Eggs.) Speaking of chopping onions, the reason contact lens-wearers don’t experience as much eye irritation is because 1) the contacts protect the eye from the nearly invisible squirting onion acid, and 2) contact-wearers’ eyes are used to having foreign objects in them, so they’re constantly trying to wash things out of there anyway. The more you know. Or, everything you would have assumed about onions, eyes, and this post is right.
