One Direction’s Week in Review: 9/5
The band is on a break, but the boys aren’t.
One Direction last performed together on a Sunday night, Dec. 13th, 2015, on the season finale of the British iteration of “The X Factor.” They sang a single from their fifth album, accepted accolades from Simon Cowell and others, and then vanished into the night to begin a hiatus with no end-date. Between them, in the months since they last took the stage, they have officially announced very little — a solo record deal, the birth of a child, the founding of a golf management company. But each week they are out in the world, doing things, going places. This is what we know.
On Wednesday Niall Horan went for a jog along Sunset Boulevard, where something caught his eye at Book Soup. He paused briefly, then carried on. Later that night, he attended a 5 Seconds of Summer concert at The Forum, where he chatted with longtime One Direction songwriter Julian Bunetta and Cameron Azoff, the younger brother of Jeff Azoff, Harry Styles’ friend and manager. On Thursday he went to the doctor. “Hooked up at the docs office,” he captioned a Snap of himself, shirtless with censors affixed to his chest. “Acid reflux is no joke.” On Saturday, he golfed, saw Drake perform, and then slept for 11 hours. On Sunday, he attended an LA Galaxy game with his friend, alleged cousin, and frequent activity partner Stephen “Deo” Devine. In his downtime, he experimented with Snapchat filters.
Harry Styles remembered September 11th and reminded others to do the same. It was his first tweet since July 23, when he commemorated the six year anniversary of the day One Direction was put together on The X-Factor. “Six years,” he wrote. “I have no idea how to say thank you for all your support. For everything you are, and everything you’ve done, thank you.” He signed the tweet “H.”
Never Forget.

Ben Winston, longtime One Direction video director, and James Corden, who, with Winston, wrote the script for the sketch in the “Best Song Ever” video, won two Emmys for their work on The Late Late Show With James Corden. Here they are a year later with 2 Emmys in their hands and a show that has taken over the world . . Congratulations to you both and to everyone @latelateshow.”
