New Music: White Denim, Okkervil River, Julianna Barwick, The Blow

Four new songs from four great indie acts, which we shall sort into gender dyads. First the ladies: here’s The Blow’s first song in 7 years, a great, flip DIY prog-pop track called “Make It Up,” and Julianna Barwick’s new video for “One Half,” a song that sounds as hipster-Enya, stoned-in-a-cathedral as ever.
And then the men: something new from White Denim, the psych-y and garage-y “Pretty Green,” and Okkervil River’s surprisingly poppy latest, “Stay Young,” mostly recommended to those who already like Okkervil River from their perfect songs like “For Real.”
