Two Alleged Instances of “Penis Captivus”

BBC Health Check asks: Is it true that you can get stuck together during sex? Verdict: “It certainly can happen.” From two (anonymous) listeners who wrote in to the show and inspired the inquiry:

I listened to your Health Check program and heard your Swiss doctor saying that it never happens that people — to put it politely — get stuck during intercourse. I know otherwise, from personal experience way back in the ’70s, when I was in my thirties and an officer in the Merchant Navy. It happened to me in Japan. It was a bit worrying for a few minutes but after we… separated, we had a good laugh. I’m pleased to say I’m not a pervert and I’m now 75, with lots of very happy memories.

Listening to Health Check re: your story about visits to ER due to sexual activity, I was shocked when you mentioned the “myth” of partners getting stuck during sex. I must tell you, it is no myth. It happened to my late husband and myself one night. He literally could not withdraw, i.e., was stuck. I attributed it to the intensity of the vaginal muscle response during orgasm. For obvious reasons, I would not like my name mentioned on air. But I can assure you, it is no myth.
