Weekend Roundup / Open Thread
Sometimes you just need that one song to play you out, you know what I mean?
We did a lot of things this week!! Good work, us. We quit smoking, spoke with choreographer Katy Pyle about queering ballet, learned some new sexy facts about Coco Chanel, added some much-needed questions to the existing Proust Questionnaire, met some cool guys at the Eileen Fisher sample sale, got a Dude to explain what was wrong with everyone (spoiler alert: everything), got some blisters and slathered them in Polysporin, received some wisdom from Angela Bowie, and Baba Yaga and Wendy shared some very helpful advice. Anupa’s essay on selfies is mandatory reading, and if you already read it, you should go back and read it again; it’s excellent. We got silly, learned about the first Jewish Miss America, sent some poems to our friends (again), and we bravely admitted to our very few, minor, barely perceptible flaws.
I’ve decided the theme for this weekend is, of course, Ludacris’ verse in “Ride.” What’s the theme for your weekend?
See you Monday!!
