Yoko Ono, “Nobody Sees Me Like You Do”
Last week, as Alex mentioned, we went to the Yoko Ono exhibition, which was so silly!
My favorite part was the room dedicated to the Plastic Ono Band. There were all these iPods sealed in little glass cases with headphones attached and you could select a song and by that point I’d already been on my feet for a long time so I was mostly just grateful for the bench but the song I chose turned out to be lovely. There’s something very odd about how the song title doesn’t match the actual lyrics (which are no one can see me like you do-oo-oo-oo, the drawn out “oo’s” a particularly satisfying sound) but that just made me like it more. The element of surprise is an underrated feature of music, I think.
