Sun-flare energy from Tuesday’s “biggest solar storm in five years” is apparently hitting the planet as we speak, meaning there might be GPS wackiness, unexpected auroras, and wild power surges. (“Power grid operators have all been alerted,” says a space-weather scientist (!). “It could start to cause some unwanted induced currents.”) Or the whole thing could pass us by undetected.
