Sprayed With DNA For Security Reasons

by Bonnie

A woman in Amsterdam was surprised to find that her neighborhood has been treated with an anti-crime DNA-spray. From the letter she received:

The procedure is simple: during a holdup a nebula of invisible liquid with a synthetic DNA code is spread in the space. the liquid attaches itself to the clothes and skin of the perpetrator and cannot simply be washed off.

The DNA-spray is largely invisible but lights up under black lights used by investigators.

I have a bunch of thoughts on this and most of them are some version of that’s what she said. DNA-spray? I snickered like a 7th grader when I saw that. A male 7th grader. Also, is DNA the only thing that glows like that? No. And yes it is synthetic, but a copy of whose DNA? Or DNA from what? The future is upon us. The malevolent, spooky future. Most importantly what did she say? He sprayed me with DNA for my own protection? Close enough.
