But Who Will Bully the Bullies?
“I can’t believe the MPAA is blocking American teenagers from seeing a movie that literally could save thousands of lives,” she said in a statement. “I’m speaking out for all those students who suffer everyday because of bullying. The MPAA needs to give Bully a PG-13 rating so the students being bullied, and the bullies themselves, can see the this film and schools can show it as well.”
The Motion Picture Association of America — the folks who issues movie ratings and subjects of a documentary themselves — gave the new doc Bully and R rating despite tons of harmless nice people begging them not to. Feisty Michigan high school student (keep ’em coming, Michigan!) Katy Butler has started a petition to get the rating changed to PG-13. She does have a point. Watch the trailer here.
