One Direction’s Week in Review: 1/23

The band is on a break, but the boys aren’t.

One Direction last performed together on a Sunday night, Dec. 13th, 2015, on the season finale of the British iteration of “The X Factor.” They sang a single from their fifth album, accepted accolades from Simon Cowell and others, and then vanished into the night to begin a hiatus with no end-date. Between them, in the months since they last took the stage, they have officially announced very little — four solo record deals, the birth of a child, the founding of a golf management company. But each week they are out in the world, doing things, going places. This is what we know.

On Saturday, Harry Styles went to a Kings of Leon concert in LA wearing a bright red top coat. On Monday, he posed with a fan. He was wearing a Rolling Stones tee and an unbuttoned motorcycle blouse.

Last week Louis Tomlinson was in New York to perform his single “Just Hold On” on The Tonight Show and The Today Show. He and Steve Aoiki palled around, went to the club, and made the radio rounds. On Friday, he flew to LA and went to Bootsy Bellows (the club). On Sunday, he cuddled his kid, or, at minimum, thought about cuddling his kid. He also went to Starbucks.

On Wednesday, Niall Horan, a brunette boy, went to the opening of Larry King Salon, a salon owned by a man named Larry King (not the one you are thinking of). On Monday, he donned his cap and flew to LA.

On Wednesday, Liam Payne hung out with Charlie Puth. On Sunday, he went to dinner at Catch LA in West Hollywood. IDK what he ate, probably some fish.

Notable Adjacent News

Friend of the band and Late Late Show host James Corden was named partner of Fulwell 73, the production company behind the Late Late Show and most of One Direction’s music videos. British GQ announced the news in a profile, which quotes Harry Styles as saying, “[Fulwell 73 founder] Ben Winston has got amazing teeth. He’s got some of the best teeth you’ll ever see. They’re exceptional.”
