Alice Cohen, “Backwards”

“My purpose is similar to the function of dreams: to take the listener to their inner planes,” Cohen has said. “I like to think of it as a musical version of astral traveling.”

I spent most of this summer trying to make fall happen. Reaching September 1st feels like a real victory that I will happily collect a medal or similar prize for. I’m not planning on forgetting summer, exactly, but I’m expectantly looking forward, and for some reason a song called “Backwards” seems like the perfect musical accompaniment for a season with such high hopes.
