Weekend Roundup / Open Thread

Remember when I said that all I wanted was an ice cream cone with sprinkles? It turns out dreams can come true!! You heard it first on The Hairpin dot com.

What other dreams came true this week? We ranked some fireworks, said goodbye to a queen AND to a terrible summer job, considered some shady literary descriptions and whether we should give a certain musician a chance. We looked back on notable summer romances, the history of women and computers, the history of gay porn, and the sartorial wisdom of Parker Posey. We grew out our armpit hair and it looked hot as hell. Luckily, there’s a soundtrack for loving both your pit hair and yourself. Wendy and Baba Yaga were both back with sage advice. We said goodbye to Christian Audigier, saw a great movie, and read Alan’s poetry.

I haven’t even thought of what my new weekend goal should be!! Options include: prolonged sleep, recoiling from the sun, and a carbonated beverage served in a glass bottle sipped out of a straw.
