Tori Amos, “Siren”

Ok so we’re all going to watch Great Expectations tonight, yes? I only saw it for the first time two summers ago, and my wardrobe experienced a substantial boom in silk blouses as a result; I regret nothing.

As Naomi pointed out, watching Great Expectations is just asking to be locked up in Horny Jail. There’s one scene early in the movie where Gwyneth Paltrow is on her way home from prom in this seafoam-mint frothy prom dress and Ethan Hawke slowly, slowly inches his hand up her thigh while she’s standing in front of him, and I know physiologically speaking I won’t ever know what an actual erection feels like but I swear watching that scene I truly thought I had a boner. It is truly the pinnacle of my absolute favorite kind of movie scene: a sex scene that involves no actual sex. Anyway, here’s a song from that movie!
