November Horoscopes From Galactic Rabbit
by Gala Mukomolova
Dear Windswept Bunnies,
This November marks yet another month deeply influenced by Venus and Saturn which continue to move close to sun and ache to teach us about the love we make in this world and the promises we should keep versus the ones we do. I am sending these notes out to each of you and with them my love and my commitment.
In deep listening,
Galactic Rabbit
Aquarius
It’s ok that sometimes you have trouble relating to others. It’s ok that there are nights you’d rather give yourself your own good company than reach out to those you love. It’s ok that there are times when thoughtless words have a deeper affect on you than you would like — than you can help or control. It’s ok. Aquarius, this November you might find yourself wondering about your connections with those who surround you. You might begin to ask yourself what it would take to have others see you as you most wish to be seen. I can’t give you an answer to any of these questions but I can remind you that the universe holds those who are ready to receive a holding. One cannot be ready, cannot be held, with their arms crossed tightly against the world around them. Aquarius, what are you doing? Are you sitting, reading this, with your body curled inward, tense? Uncurl, don’t be a hard rock, babygirl — -your muscles deserve to be tender and so do you. When you are ready to reach out for the connections you want, the ones you’re aching for will be right there reaching back.
Pisces
Oooo child things are gonna get easier, oooh child things will get brighter. Nina Simone might as well be singing just for you. Late this month Chiron (wounded healer) and Neptune (your ruling planet) go direct, final-fucking-ly. Their forward orbit will have you inspired to clean up every toxic situation that has been going on in your world, to get your life right. This November, you will find the strength to get up and stay up. You will see yourself in the mirror and you’ll look good, Pisces, you’ll look like you have somewhere to be. You don’t have time to mess around, darlin’, especially not with anyone who mistakes your earnest heart for a weak one. The tools for your rebirth are all here and all you have to do is pick them up. Use this Taurus moon to be brave and stick to your guns, use these Scorpio weeks to scrape the dead skin off, use the Sagittarian vibes that influence late November to fuck what anyone else has to think of you.
Aries
One thing at a time. That’s your key phrase this month. I encourage you to repeat it to yourself as you wait in traffic to get to where you’re going. By traffic I mean practice patience, I mean hold your temper with everyone in your life that would rather get in the way then get on your level. Some of us take a long time to navigate the fires in our souls. Some of us would rather sleep at the wheel than admit we aren’t happy with the lane we’re in. Some of us, Aries, are none of your concern. You’ve long outgrown the people in your life who slow you down, who make you feel small or under-appreciated. In fact, the only thing has kept you in places you don’t want to be is your big generous hopeful heart but that hope has been spread a little thin. Am I right? Have you found yourself feeling diminished creatively and spiritually? You can’t run on hope forever, Aries. This month finds you closing the book on jobs, people and places that get in the way of you becoming your best self.
Taurus
Here we are, sweet bull, in the underworld, the underside of your heart. You didn’t want to eat the red seeds, you didn’t want to come here and you didn’t want to stay. Yet here you are and you will find there is no escape hatch, no secret door that will let you slip back into summer and her forgetful heat. You already know there is no way out but through. You have held onto that mantra before to survive countless sorrows. What comes now is the hard part. The part when you begin to define what you desire so that you might learn how to ask for it. I’m not talking about want. I’m not talking about a better paying job or a cute sweet boy to go home with tonight. I am asking you to sit still inside the part of yourself that you’ve shut down for your own safety. This month ask yourself what you believe you deserve in this world. Ask yourself why you have spent so much time refusing to let yourself have it.
Gemini
Your world is shifting and I know you can feel it too. Like Stevie, you have crystal visions and it’s crystal clear that all the risks you have been taking are about to pay off. O it might take a minute or a month for everything to settle but I have no doubt that at this moment you are right where you should be. You might feel like all the work you have been doing to get better has gone unseen but you’re wrong. The ones who love you, who want the best for you, have been watching you rise up out of the rut you’ve been in and we could not be more thrilled for you. Gemini, now that you have acknowledged what no longer serves you, now that you have stepped towards the center of a your light, you need to celebrate yourself. Look up, beautiful star, the thick dark cloud you have become so familiar with is gone from your sky so stop expecting it to rain down on you. Count the stars instead, Gemini, they are winking back at you, those bright flirts, and who can blame them?
Cancer
Full moon in Taurus this month and you must be feeling it, the strong pull towards home, towards something that feels like it was made to be yours. Have you been feeling hungry for a feast made for your mouth alone? Soft-heart, this month has everything to teach you about the difference between having enough and feeling like you have enough. O this is not a conversation about ingratitude. I’m not here to tell you to be thankful or to count your lucky stars (and they have been lucky when it’s all said and done). I want to honor your insatiable spirit, your desire for more. I want to tell you that desire is a beautiful thing and hunger too and you should let yourself feel both without guilt. I think you have spent so much time working toward feeling better about who you are (especially in your relationships, especially in your secret heart) that you have given yourself very little room to enjoy the person you could be. Cancer, this month, give yourself to yourself again. Charge yourself in the electric current of your deepest desires and don’t stop until you’re full.
Leo
It’s hard to have the world offer you so much and still feel like you keep falling short, isn’t it Leo? It’s hard to rise and meet the day with your shoulders squared when your gut is a yarn woven tight with worry, especially when something in you keeps whispering act strong and you’ll be strong. Strength can’t always work that way, my lion-heart. Strength wants more of you than you think you are ready to give. Maybe it’s the suffering of the humans around you, a sadness that resonates in your body and makes you feel useless in the face of it. Do you find yourself asking what you have done to deserve what you have? Do you find yourself faking your own gratitude in the hopes that it will expand your heart? Leo, this month the Sun and moon are here to teach you when it’s best to hold on and when it’s time to let go. In the midst of that balancing act, I want to ask you to consider one question: When do you think you’ll be ready to love who you can be rather than what you can do?
Virgo
Let’s talk about winter, Virgo. I don’t mean the romantic snowflakes and twinkly lights donning the naked trees. I don’t mean one million holiday parties with delicious treats and libations that lead to wild reckless nights. I mean winter, the bare harvest and biting wind. I mean the nights your body will feel so exhausted from battling the cold, you’ll fold into your apartment and forget to see anyone you love. Virgo, I know you’ve got all the supplies you need to live through the toughest months. I know there are thermal sweaters and wool socks and if not a lot of money then at least enough. I am unsure, however, how you have prepared your heart. Don’t you know that life cannot be a series of mundane tasks and work hours? I know that you have been trying to get back to fine. I know that there are days when fine is as good as it’s going to get. On those days, Virgo, when nothing seems to sustain your soul, I tell you this so you might remember: I love your hands and everything you make with them.
Libra
If someone told me, long ago when I began this study, that the same planet rules Libra and Taurus — I would have called them a liar. How can a sign that resonates in the throat (Taurus) that knows exactly when to say when, have the same ruler as Libra, so often throat-stuck and unsure? Perhaps the answer has something to do with love, with Venus and her generous pink honeyed orbit. For months now the planets have aligned to shine a light on the relationships in your life (how it is, and how it could be, how it was, and of course, how it should be). How did you respond? Did you freeze up? Did you turn tail? This month I want you to consider what it might mean to choose yourself. Perhaps with the moon so full in Taurus it’s time for you to claim a song that’s just for you. Libra it’s ok to put yourself first, to take care, as long as you try your best to be kind and make your boundaries known. This month is all about discipline, about saying what you mean, doing what you need, and loving yourself even if there are times you get it wrong.
Scorpio
There was a time when I turned to the tarot all the time. Without fail, each spread would inevitably reveal the Death Card. I came to expect it, this card associated with Scorpios like me (am I outing myself? Have you always known?). The Death card indicates destruction of an old life and a new beginning. Perhaps, like me, you took your natural ability to burn and rise for granted. Perhaps you too have been waiting for the universe to let you know when it’s time to begin again. This month, the moon and the Sun are positioned directly across from each other, perfect opposites. Taurus digs her heels in and holds on, Scorpio cuts her hair close to the scalp and lets go. They create a trine with Chiron, small god of healing — unable to heal himself. Did you want a challenge, Scorpio? Did you want a Great Big Sign? Here it is. If your heart is burning, let it burn. If you feel aimless, stuck, then manifest the Death Card and shed the skin that you’ve already outgrown. The stars are weaving a net and they will catch you no matter how scary the jump, how deep the fall.
Sagittarius
Dear Archer, have I told you my theory about birthdays? Have I told you how I believe that our magic is tripled, is most keen, on the day of our birth? I do. I don’t have any evidence of this and I’m sure that many people over the age of eight will probably think my theory ridiculous but what those people think doesn’t matter. What matters to me is that, this month, you take my theory to heart. As your birthday season draws near, I want you to imagine yourself at your most powerful and move toward that image. I want you to lay down any excuses you have made for your lack of self-discipline and self-esteem. My brilliant centaur, isn’t it time for you to surprise yourself with all you are capable of? I’m talking about your talent, your mind, and your persistent heart. I know birthdays make you weepy because mortality and you can cry if you want but I’m asking you to think long and hard about that moment when the people who love you bring your cake out. Imagine it burning with so many small fires, so many perfect wishes. Close your eyes and imagine what you want in this life, imagine yourself already having it, then open your eyes and blow.
Capricorn
You’re not afraid of a little hard work, are you Capricorn? You’re not afraid of getting knee-deep in the mud of things as long as your work pays off. In fact, this kind of surrender to a greater goal feels good to you, feels real. Who are these people walking around with dreams they do nothing to accomplish? How can anyone live that way? With Mars sliding over from Sagittarius to Capricorn this month, it’s time to shake off self-indulgence and get down to business. But what can business mean to you? It must mean more than what you can accomplish before an audience. It must mean this business of living, of recognizing your strengths and tending to your weaknesses. It must mean learning how to love in a new way: learning to honor your own success without needing the validation of others. There are people out there who would buckle under such rigorous work toward growth but I know you’re ready. You’ve already accomplished more this year than even you can let yourself believe. Believe it.
