A Jumpsuit for Lewis Hamilton

Before Lewis Hamilton’s appearance earlier this week on NBC’s Today, America’s oldest breakfast show, there was a segment with Sarah Lazarovic, a woman who has apparently gone 12 months without shopping. Lazarovic had four minutes. Hamilton, the biggest star in the most popular motorsport on the planet, had barely 91 seconds with host Josh Elliott. — Daniel Johnson, F1 Correspondent, The Telegraph

I feel so horrible about this. How can I make amends? It’s true, I’m just a little schlub who wrote a book about shopping and trying to curb waste and overconsumption. I also hate driving, and do so only infrequently, at very slow speed. Lewis Hamilton is a guy who drives really fast cars, and drives them faster than every other person in the world. He sounds nice and we agree about there being too much fast food in the world. We also both love jumpsuits. So for you, Lewis Hamilton, a jumpsuit. Godspeed.

Sarah Lazarovic’s book, A Bunch of Pretty Things I Did Not Buy, is based on an essay that ran on The Hairpin in 2012. You can order a copy here.
