RIP, Ruby Dee

Ruby Dee, the actress and civil rights activist, died today at 91. Here’s a clip from her 2009 Sundance Iconoclasts episode with Alicia Keys, in which she spontaneously breaks into verse while speaking to a group of high school students: “When you know my love, my love will warm you.” [NYT]
