RIP, Gerry Goffin
The legendary songwriter behind “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman,” “Savin’ All My Love For You” and many more American now-standards — who married Carole King in 1959, when he was 20 and King was 17 — has died at the age of 75 at his home in Los Angeles. Here’s the first hit the couple wrote together, “which a pregnant King helped write while suffering morning sickness.” You think they laughed together and made magic of your size jokes? I do. Just look at them! King and Goffin divorced in 1968 but continued to work together.
After the jump, Lykke Li’s beautiful live cover of Goffin’s song.
