Juana Molina’s Tiny Desk Concert
My brother sent this video to me and described singer-songwriter (and former comedian) Juana Molina as “a rootsy Argentinian Bjork,” and after watching her 15-minute set, I am not going to argue with that description. “It’s as if she’d been raised by wolves and discovered the world of music on her own,” writes NPR’s Bob Boilen. It is decidedly different. The beat patterns she runs her band through reminded me at times of tUnE-yArDs, who recently stopped by Seattle’s KEXP studio to perform tracks from Nikki Nack.
