The Jewish Daughter Diaries

One more thing about moms today. I recently read the very funny, embarrassing, and true book, The Jewish Daughter Diaries: True Stories of Being Loved Too Much By Our Moms, which is a collection of essays edited by Rachel Ament and written by some of my favorite ladies (and tweeters!): Lauren Greenberg, Anna Breslaw, Leonora Epstein, Emmy Blotnick, Almie Rose, and of course, Mayim Bialik.
One of my favorite essays (and like a conversation I have roughly every time I ask my mom for a recipe) is Jena Friedman’s mom’s recipe for cookies:

Jena, chocolate chip cookies, really? Instead of something filled with empty calories, how about taking the recipe for my zucchini oat-bran muffins? They’re healthier and will keep you full longer. Don’t roll your eyes.
