The Year in Beautiful Book Covers
By jia.tolentino December 16, 2013
At the New York Times and Bookpage, we’ve got ourselves two lists of the best book covers from 2013. The new Fear of Flying design is awesome (“Filthy,” notes Choire), as is the cover for William Gass’s Middle C. Any of you guys have books this year that you thought were particularly nice to look at? It’s not on either list, but I loved the cover for A.M. Homes’s May We Be Forgiven, which starts with the most uncomfortable Thanksgiving scene I’ve ever read. Also, the covers on both Jolie’s and Katie Heaney’s soon-to-be-out books are quite appealing.
