Ms. Lauryn Hill, “Ex Factor” (Live)

Here’s video from Ms. Lauryn Hill’s first post-prison-stint concert, at the Bowery Ballroom during Thanksgiving week. She’s performing a very modified version of Miseducation’s “Ex Factor,” but she’s in control of her band in a distinctly Ms. Hill way. The coda — at 7:35 or so, with her backup singers — repeats the refrain, “look at what you’ve done to me,” which, if you’re in a certain nostalgic mood for old Lauryn, leaves room for a sad sort of interpretation.
