A Minimalist All-Emoji Tragedy: Oneohtrix Point Never’s “Boring Angel”

I have never used an emoji m’self (are there still no black ones?) and do not understand the fulness of what they might signify in terms of modern communication and iconography, but this video — should you be in the mood to watch something that grinds out a story arc in an agonizing but beautiful sequence of single tiny phone pictures — is beautiful (around 2:00 is when it really got me). Generally, Oneohtrix Point Never has been working a Philip Glass-gone-Internet aesthetic, and his other videos follow in similar conceptual veins.
