Protect Yourself from Specious Zoo Fraud by Perusing These Majestic Photos of the Serengeti Lion
You probably saw the story last week about the Chinese zoo that tried to pass off a Tibetan mastiff as a lion. If you didn’t, here’s NPR’s lead-in:
Visitors to a zoo in China got a rude surprise when the lion started barking.
Also:
The dog-for-cat swap wasn’t the only attempt to pull the wool over the eyes of zoo patrons: There was also a domestic dog housed in the wolf pen, and a white fox was found pacing the leopard exhibit.
A white fox in the leopard exhibit? Actually, why not. Kickstarter for a zoo that is just 1000 red pandas painted to look like Pokemon. And only you can prevent ersatz zoo deception by checking out this incredible National Geographic photo set of Serengeti lions lounging, fighting each other, killing zebras, grooming each other, and having sex (the expression on the male lion’s face is… an expression).
