We’re currently in the middle of Cephalopod Awareness Days, a five-day stretch that started on Monday, October 8 (“the eighth day of the tenth month … an auspicious occasion for appreciating animals with a combination of 8 or 10 appendages”). Wired has more information about the holiday[s], and there’s also an official Cephalopod Days Tumblr. Today, October 10, is official squid/cuttlefish day — or the horrible “Squittleday” — if you want to celebrate. Calamari seems wrong, but maybe bug the lovely Natalie Eve Garrett for prints of her undersea artwork. [Incidentally, thanks for the tip, Natalie! Sorry if I am embarrassing you!]
