Gal
“What I feel like most of the time is a guy. A female guy.”
— Over on the Atlantic, Lily Rothman makes a compelling case for the dusty but still-functional word “gal,” and, as we all know, public requests for slang never fail.
“Gal” is also an acronym for the popular 1990s insult “get a life,” but maybe “get a life” can be reclaimed, too, as an earnest entreaty.
