Follow the Follow the Follow the Follow the Follow the Lively Morgue

The New York Times just started a neat new Tumblr called The Lively Morgue — “a treasure house of photographs” — on which they’ll be sharing “historical riches that have been locked away from public view.” (The images are all reversible, too, with original notes appearing on the back.) It’s a new site, so there’s not much of an archive yet, but an early favorite is this 1930 picture of two policemen posing with “twelve pint bottles of liquor cached in [a] papier-mâché clothes dummy, draped with an evening gown.” Also this matron-repellant.
