Today Hairpin pal Mary Miller draws attention to Questionable Advice, a Tumblr that posts “Maxims, Advice & Cautions in all matters; or, Guidance for the Confused Masses” from 19th- and early-20th-century magazines and newspapers. Some is questionable, although some is timeless. Actually, a majority of it holds up. But: October’s child is born for woe? Intense!
