El-P, “Rush Over Brooklyn”

Well, this is neat. Apparently there’s a new company called Legitimix that allows producers to sample copyrighted music easily and legally so everyone gets paid and can keep being creative. Problems solved. Hairpin pal El-P created this track, “Rush Over Brooklyn,” the first official single from Legitimix, using his song “Drones Over Brooklyn” and the only Rush song I really know, “Tom Sawyer.” Get it! If you do, you’ll also be helping out another musician, Mr. Dibbs, as all proceeds go toward his battle with liver disease. Good news/bad news/good news?
