With Temptu’s heavy-duty and vaguely Alien-looking AIRbrush Makeup System Starter Set ($295), you spray foundation, blush, and highlighter on yourself in slow, circular motions for “the look of truly perfect skin” — sort of like Photoshop 3D. The 32 reviewers on Sephora give it an impressive 4.6 out of 5-star rating, including one woman who says: “This is awesome. My husband bought it for our 16 yr old daughter and myself. It’s easy to use and goes on flawless. We just interchange the different colors and GO!!!” Mother-daughter airbrush system, why not? A less-expensive (but less favorably reviewed) option is the Luminess Everyday Beauty System ($169), which comes with foundation, blush, bronzer, and “glow,” and which 23 ladies on Makeup Alley give a 3.3 out of 5. Hm.

Permanent Makeup
One of makeup’s most simultaneously reassuring and frustrating properties is that it eventually comes off — unless you get it tattooed.
