10 Signs You’re the Female Lead in a Korean Drama
by Kate Noonan
1. You’re a hardworking twenty-something with big dreams and humble means who sports oversize clothes, no make-up, and messy hair, but, it turns out, you’re actually a hottie!
2. Every guy you know has a better haircut than you do and looks incredible in scarves.
3. In winter, you always happen to be outside just as the first snow begins to fall, but it still catches you by surprise.
4. There is an older woman who is cooler, more beautiful, and more successful than you will ever be. She’s probably also famous for being something interesting (e.g. artist, chef), but she has a secret.
5. In a chance encounter, you meet an older man who is so out of your league. Sparks fly. You like each other! Then, in a strange twist of events, you learn that he is your new boss. You hate each other!
6. That gorgeous man-child boss at the restaurant/coffee shop/architectural design firm/art gallery where you work — and his wealthy, judgmental, and overbearing parents own — drives you crazy. (He’s so unreasonable! He’s so unpredictable!) But, then again, you sort of love him. You’re so conflicted, aiiissh!
7. There is a car accident!
8. Someone has plane tickets to New York or Europe!!!
9. You have a big fight with your boss and get fired. You listen to sad music in your apartment and stay up all night. At dawn, you realize you can’t live without him. Luckily, he’s already outside your window.
10. Your hair turns curly and you start wearing pink lipstick because you’ve found true love.
