Is it the same myopia by which people continue to sign on to do reality television shows, despite knowing that no one has ever improved their public stature by so doing?

But instead of “if the world just gets to know me, they’ll see how down-to-earth and relatable I, Kelly Bensimon, truly am,” it becomes, “if I just send Arlo Guthrie the ad in which Alice’s Restaurant is featured, he’ll suddenly realize the connection between his lyrics and my sincere desire to turn minorities into a protein-rich slurry to feed our nation’s incarcerated.”
