Happy Hour: What to Drink This Sunday
by Diana Vilibert
Survey time! Sunday is:
A. The day of rest, spent in quiet reflection. It perhaps includes an extended yoga session, should you be feeling anxious about the coming week; a bubble bath with fancy bath milk; and a large cup of decaf tea made from tea leaves picked by an endangered species of monkey.
B. The day of distress, spent mostly in a bed or on a couch, but definitely entirely in a medium-boil level of panic about your life. In particular, that project you didn’t finish (or start) this weekend, the workout you meant to do and you guess there’s still time to do it today but your sneakers are all the way over there, and oh my god someone else from high school had a baby yesterday and someone else published their book and all you did was watch the new episode of Degrassi.
If you chose B, great episode, right? Also, you’re in luck, because this coming Sunday, July 24th, happens to be National Tequila Day. (If you chose A, you’re Gwyneth Paltrow).
Now, there may be a bucket of margarita in my fridge at the moment, but if you want to get more creative, here are a couple of recipes to try — the first, a super simple (and pretty), just-sweet-enough option from Giuseppe Gonzalez at NYC’s Painkiller, and the second, Sauza’s twist on the margarita with a smooth red wine kick.
Catrina Rosada (above)

1 Strawberry
1 Barspoon of agave nectar (about a teaspoon, to taste)

1 ½ parts Sauza Silver Tequila
½ part Cabernet Sauvignon
1 part DeKuyper Triple Sec
1 part agave nectar
1 part fresh lime juice
Directions: Combine ingredients in a glass over ice.
Previously: Let’s French.
