Is the Cube the Tiniest Home in the World?
Maybe not, but it’s extremely small. Currently just a prototype at the Edinburgh Science Festival, The Cube, which measures three meters on all sides, has:
… a lounge, with a table and two custom-made chairs, a small double bed (120cm wide), a full-size shower, a kitchen (with energy-efficient fridge, induction hob, re-circulating cooker hood, sink/drainer, combination microwave oven and storage cupboards), a washing machine, and a composting toilet.
It’s cute, kind of. There’s also a 360 degree panoramic photo-tour if you want to zoom in on the toilet and/or envision the various ways you’d fall to your death on those toadstool stairs in the center (“you need to start with your left foot, otherwise you’ll get out of sync with the steps”). Painting the walls and putting up some art might make it more appealing. OK, it took a sec, but I love it now. Tiny House!
