The Other Kate Middleton Doll
I was ignoring my Google Alerts for “Kate Middleton doll,” because I thought I already knew, but I had no idea. Kate has had another doll made in her likeness, and what this doll lacks in aesthetic appeal it attempts to make up for in price: Unlike the Franklin Mint doll, which costs $195, the Princess Catherine Doll costs a mere $57 (and is now on sale at British toy store Hamley’s — 10,000 have been made). Here’s a photogallery of her posing at various British historic sites, and below is a video of a child expressing displeasure about the Kate doll’s outfit.
And speaking of “Princess Catherine,” the official word on what Kate’s title will be, in case you haven’t been keeping up, is that she’ll only become an actual princess if/when Charles becomes king — at which point William will become the Prince of Wales and Kate will thus become the Princess.
Another angle:
Sort of a vampire/alien thing going on with the eyes.
Also, since we’re here in the basement of this ridiculous Kate Middleton post, it occurred to me I’d never actually heard her speak, so I searched YouTube and found this long but hypnotic interview with Kate and Prince William about the proposal, the ring, their plans for kids, and all that. It’s from November, so I’m proud to be right on top of this breaking news.
