Live-blogging 13 Hours of Rabbit Webcam

by Nadia Chaudhury

“This is Nadia — she really likes bunnies.”

That’s how the eight-year-old girl I’ve babysat for years introduces me to her friends, and it’s true. For instance, I maintain my own rabbit site where I post rabbit-related pictures, quotes, videos, and links. The site is also where I discovered Roebling the Brooklyn Bunny, a rabbit who’s the star of his very own webcam site — a “pet (GET IT?) project” run by his owners, graphic designers Kevin Dresser and Kate Johnson — and this past Sunday I spent 13 hours live-blogging Roebling’s comings and goings.

Let’s begin.

9:42 a.m.

He emerges.

10:22 a.m.

He is in motion.

10:22 a.m.

Roebling sets to work unraveling blankets.

10:23 a.m.

Roebling goes back into his little box.

10:29 a.m.

A rare sighting of bunny ears up close.

10:30 a.m.

What does he hear?

10:31 a.m.

Back to the task of the day.

12:49 p.m.

Roebling takes a grooming break — one of many.

12:51 p.m.

Roebling enjoys a lunchtime salad.

3:17 p.m.

In the afternoon Roebling naps.

4:01 p.m.

Later, he stretches and displays his bunny-butt.

6:20 p.m.

A friend rolls him into a burrito.

6:45 p.m.

Break for hay.

8:05 p.m.

Roebling thinks he’s hiding, but I can see him going to the bathroom.

9:21 p.m.

Goodnight, Roebling.

My day with Roebling is over, but there’s always tomorrow.

Nadia Chaudhury sadly doesn’t have a pet rabbit, but she does co-own two guinea pigs.
