Al-Shamikha (“The Majestic Woman”) is a 31-page Al Qaeda-run magazine aimed at women that “mix[es] beauty tips with lessons in jihad.”
Among the beauty tips: Protect your complexion by staying inside with your face covered, and avoid “towelling too forcibly.” The magazine’s purple-and-gray cover features a small picture of a woman in a full veil and a very large picture of a machine gun.
