You Don’t Bring Me Flowers, a New Study Shows
A big study out of Britain today found that relationships are hard — especially for women because we get tired of taking care of our husbands. Oh, boy! The research showed that during the first five years of marriage, both men and women tend to be happy. But then things take a turn for the worse! By the time people have been married for 11 years, the women are significantly less happy than men. And after 40 years, neither the men nor the women are very happy, but the women are extra miserable.
The reason? Apparently we’re not getting enough romance. Groan. One psychologist explains:
“Women start to question the relationship when, five or six years in, they realise they still do more to nurture the relationship, even if they have a busy career. Men are supposed to be more metrosexual and do more to nurture the woman in their life. But all too often this isn’t the case and the woman does the lion’s share. Men get comfortable in a relationship and forget that women need romance.”
There you have it, it’s been scientifically proven that men need to get it together and bring us flowers once a week, or we’ll cry and cry and make everyone miserable FOR LIFE.
