Piers Morgan’s Condoleezza Rice Interview Was Rough
by Liz Colville
Condi! Piers! Piers Morgan is like the British talent show equivalent of David Hasselhoff. Actually, no, he used to be a tabloid journalist. But anyway, he has just taken over from Larry King at CNN, but, well, he’s not doing a very good job. This stuttering, awkward segment of his interview with the former secretary of state features some terrible questions about marriage and romance and then it just…ends, which is probably good. But there’s a lot more to it. The whole thing, which aired last night, just should have been Condi reciting something on the piano, instead of reciting her non-regret of the war in Iraq and being grilled on whether she’s romantic and how she’s romantic. Re: WMDs, Condi had this to say: “What you know today can affect what you do tomorrow, but not what you did yesterday.” Snap.
