Our Drunkest States

by Liz Colville

Judging from the stunt maneuvers you may have witnessed driving around New England and the Tri-State Area, is it any wonder Massachusetts and Connecticut rank among the worst states when it comes to driving while intoxicated? Massachusetts is also one of the worst for driving while under the influence of drugs. Plus, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services found that 13.2% of the country at some point drove while intoxicated in the past year. Whoopee. Other highly offending states: Montana (in both categories), Nebraska, Arkansas, Minnesota, Delaware, and Colorado, which is strange, because I thought Colorado was the brainiest state in the country. Being smart is hard, I guess!
