Hollister Employee Asked to Remove Remembrance Day Pin
by Liz Colville
A Hollister model from Hampshire, England, whose job is to walk around the store looking hot in the Abercrombie & Fitch offshoot’s clothes, was asked to remove a poppy pin she was wearing symbolizing Remembrance Day, the UK’s equivalent of Memorial Day. The poppies are found on lapels and sweaters all over the country for two weeks surrounding the holiday, but Harriet Phipps’ bosses told her to remove the pin because it is “not uniform or company policy.” In case you’re wondering what the company policy is, I told you: to walk around the store looking hot. Also, to seduce shoppers with a toxic stench.
